In the situation of being a training developer at Thrifty Savings and Loan, and having the HR director return with a request to create courses that can be sent out to other branches, I have to answer my director's question. Is it possible to use cutting-edge technology to help people learn?
To be honest, none of the options available to me would be my personal response. Yes, I think we need to incorporate cutting-edge technology in courses; however, I think that there is a potential, if done incorrectly, to interfere with actual learning. The human brain, due to technology, is evolving more quickly than expected, and we need to learn more on how technology can affect learning and retaining the knowledge learned through technology.

What is Media?
What is media? How does it apply to elearning?
Media is the plural for medium. Medium is typically seen as a means of communication, and in today's society is defined as: television, radio, newspapers, video and the internet, as well as movies. Media is a means of getting a message or news out to others.
I feel that media is essential to elearning, as one who is involved in elearning will be using various forms of media to learn, gain knowledge and become informed, as well as the physical use of media to access the tools for learning.
Take a student who is in an online school. That student will be using the internet to access the course information and lessons, and then using various forms of media (to include textbooks) to complete assignments. Once again, the student will be using the internet to submit assignments. In addition, the instructor of an online course will be using media (primarily the internet) to instruct the students.
You cannot have elearning without media, it is an integral part of elearning.

Meet your Guide
Hello, my name is Katrina and I have been in education for about 8 years total. I have been a teacher in middle school and high school as well as homeschooled my duaghters for three years, using various online school platforms.
I am very interested in eLearning, as it appears to be the way of the future. Technology is so prevalent in our society and students are more "connected" than ever. It's time to start moving education in the direction of techonology.
I am taking this certification course to help me help education move into the 21st century.
